The showcase continues the theme of tournaments, but suggests that their role was different from that generally associated with them: large, representative and, above all, propagandistic urban spectacles designed to demonstrate the power and wealth of the ruling house. This effect was achieved, among other things, through the presentation of rich but also exotic weapons, sometimes imitated, as in the case of the helmet and armour shown here, which refer to forms seen in the Oriental world in the 16th century.
