Weapons from Africa were less popular among Polish collectors, although they were valuable acquisitions for ethnographers and hunters traveling to those parts of the world.
Interest in the African continent increased in Poland after the publication in 1911 of the novel “In Desert and Wilderness” by Henryk Sienkiewicz, who also brought an interesting collection of crafts and weapons from Africa.
