These are the most famous Polish sabers of oriental origin, permanently associated with Sarmatian culture. They were used in battle and as a ceremonial element of nobility attire. Buzdygan-mace is a blunt weapon consisting of a wooden or metal handle with a feathered head. They had combat values and were also a sign of officer dignity of captains and colonels.
