Tournament armour

The armour represents the theme of the knightly tournament. However, it is important to note that the armour is richly ornamented and was primarily used for representational purposes. It also has a modern shape at the time of its creation, referring to fashionable men’s clothing. Decorativeness, representativeness, the decoration of weapons and the constant reference (or dictation) of civilian fashion will be frequent themes in the objects presented in the exhibition.
